Green Beans done extraordinarily well (cooking with Cumin)!

Q: What makes your green beans taste so good Chef? I cook a lot and green beans are a staple in my pantry. I know these beans are fresh but there is something I can’t put my finger on. Is it a spice or maybe a particular type of bean plant? Could I make canned green beans taste like this? I cleaned my plate and the entire meal was superb but in my mind I just kept going back to the green beans and trying to decipher why I never had any like this before. I appreciate that you give large portions, because I kept eating. What an experience! But they are just beans, like beans I have access to. So what is the secret?

A: If I tell you, my secret would be out and for sure you won’t discover it on TV. Yes you can make canned green beans taste like this. Once this blog gets out it will probably be on TV and every chef will claim it as their own. I gave the entire recipe to our guests who asked this question and others. But for the Blog’s sake the key secret ingredient is Cumin. The earthy flavor makes green vegetables such as green beans, broccoli taste “greener” and even in spinach or any greens of any sort. Now I wonder how long before this tip is on TV:)!
