Wilted Vegetables: cooking & reviving tips!

Q: As a closet vegan I must say your carrots, broccoli and celery taste garden fresh. You apparently don’t have a garden, perhaps it’s due to a local market resource or just lucky timing at the grocery store. I keep in my refrigerator a variety of vegetables and fruits, I get tired of rubbery dried out dinner attempts using them. Tahlequah is the nearest city to you but is 17 miles away. Is your refrigeration system better or what? Surely you don’t make daily trips to the grocery store, so please elevate my odds for better meals by sharing your secret.

A: We get this question a lot and the answer is always the same. Try getting a bowl of ice water and add a few drops of white vinegar to it. Soak your vegetables until firm again. This usually only takes about 20 minutes or so but if you go longer you won’t need to worry. They won’t explode or disappear.
